Should we come up with a name for this deal? While I do claim to know how to write, I will not do the same with how to "blog." However, as the title states, this is a welcome post. My first ever! So, allow me to introduce myself.
Hello! If you are new here and don't know me, I'm Mat Waterman, a soon-to-be BFA Graduate of Full Sail University as a Creative Writer. I was born and raised in the Kansas City area, and, like most writers, profess to being a huge nerd. My particular vises are Avatar: The Last Airbender, Magic: The Gathering, The Lord of the Rings, and Dark Souls, just to name a few. And, as a Kansas Citian, I am utterly incapable of being anything less than a die hard fan of my Chiefs and Royals.
Now, regarding what you can come to expect from me here, it's a bit of a loaded question. While things like "brand awareness/ identity" and "online optimization" are all the rage for businesses and websites these days, people aren't like that. We are not brands, whether or not we have one. We are certainly not optimized. Otherwise, we would be something other than "humans."
To put it plainly, the blog posts might get a little bit all over the place sometimes. If some of the posts aren't for you, hey, I get it. Sometimes my favorite creators or content producers put out something that isn't my favorite flavor of ice cream, either. But I hope you stick around for the next bit that is! Sometimes I may post little more than an update on whatever it is I'm working on, thoughts on some arbitrary thing going on at the time, or maybe a quasi-article on something that interests me, such as the things listed above. No matter what the writing is about, it will all be me, perhaps at my truest and purest.
My goal is that this is something that can bring people together, whether it's to create a dialogue about similar tastes or experiences, or a space where you, I, and others can come together to maybe take a break from the big, bad world for just a moment. Community and passion are incredibly important to me, as I hope you come to understand, and I want that to be something we can share here, together.
I suppose that's it, for now! Regarding a schedule, I honestly don't know what kind of schedule I can maintain consistently, for the time being. Perhaps there isn't one, and the blog posts are something of a surprise occurrence, we strangely pay too much attention to, like Groundhog Day! I guess we'll see. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them! And, once again, welcome to my page! Thanks for stopping by.
